Abstract: Elucidating the structure-activity-relationship of a potential negative allosteric modulator for the CMKLR1

Obesity is a growing challenge for the healthcare systems of our modern society. Consequently, the search for effective ways of treatment is a focal point of drug discovery around the globe. Cellular receptors responsible for metabolic function, often G protein coupled receptors (GPCRs), are a popular target for this objective, with the example of semaglutide (Ozempic®) strikingly demonstrating the demand for novel therapeutics.

In my master thesis, I focus on synthesizing derivatives of an initial screening hit for a negative allosteric modulator (NAM) of the chemokine like receptor 1 (CMKLR1) to gain insight into its structure-activity relationship and improve its efficacy.
